It’s not smart to think about the truth of guardian angels without bearing in mind angels are biblically. Descriptions and images of angels in the literature, media, and art often give us a misleading view of these glorious beings.
Angels are often portrayed as plump, non-threatening, cute cherubs. In many images, they look like feminine creatures in white robes. However, more and more in art, angels are depicted as masculine, strong warriors.
Many folks are angel-crazy. Some even pray to angels for a blessing or help. Collectors in Angel Clubs look for anything angel. Some connected with New Age teachings, hold angel seminars to aid people communicate with angels to experience angel therapy or divine guidance. Sadly, angels can serve as an ethereal focus to seem spiritual and not deal straight with the Lord.
Even in some churches, believers misinterpret angels’ intention and their activity. Are there guardian angels? Yes! However, we have to bring up some questions. What are angels like? Who are they protecting and why? Is protecting all they do?
Who Do Guardian Angels Guard?
Contrary to popular theory, the Bible never says angels guard everyone. In Psalm 91:11, the Psalmist, denoting God, says, “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.” It’s crucial to understand who the “you” is in this scripture.
The answer is proposed in verses 14 and 16: “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name … I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” The angels are supporting spirits sent out from God to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation.
Angels are appointed to watch over and guard believers at the Lord’s directive.
They don’t work separately from Him and they don’t know everything. Angels are inquisitive about the salvation God gives humans and how He decides to work through His people.
